ICTOB season-1 ended with Gala Round

The curtain has come down on the country's biggest competition ICT Olympiad Bangladesh Season 1. Bangladesh University of Business and Technology Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Faiz Khan was present as the chief guest at the gala round and award distribution ceremony of this program on Friday (February 24) afternoon at the IUBAT Auditorium in the capital.

He said, “Following the path shown by the architect of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his privileged daughter Deshratna Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is transforming the country into digital Bangladesh. I am hopeful that ICT Olympiad Bangladesh will play a major role in equipping the youth of Bangladesh with world-class IT knowledge.

Eminent persons from the country's ICT, education and research sectors participated in the event. Notable among them are Prof. Dr. Ali Noor (Pro-VC, BUBT), Dr. Nazrul Islam (Vice-Chancellor, Northern University), Naeem Hossain (President, Citizen Dhaka), Anwar Sadat Kabir (Executive Director, Bright Skills), Nazmul Islam (CEO, EduHive), Ishtiaq Sarwar (MD, AmarPay), Biplab Ghosh Rahul (CEO, E-Courier Ltd.).

In this competition organized jointly by Creative IT Institute and Whistle, students from schools and universities have participated in a total of six categories, in which a total of fifty lakh taka worth of prize money has been awarded. E-learning organization Bright Skills is the knowledge partner in this competition.
Monir Hossain, a member of the governing body of ICT Olympiad Bangladesh, said, "This is our organization to popularize ICT education from pre-school to university (thirty-five years of age). Another member of the governing body, Mohammad Shahriar Khan said, “We believe that this competition will be a milestone for our students to be up to date with the fourth industrial revolution. Also, there were booths of ICT Olympiad Bangladesh in various educational institutions across the country so that students from remote areas of the country could participate spontaneously in this competition. Ashraful Insan Ivan, another member of the governing body informed that hundreds of thousands of students took part in the competition.

It is known that season-1 of ICT Olympiad Bangladesh has been organized keeping in mind that the students of Bangladesh advance through world-class knowledge in the ICT sector, said the organizers who were present at the event.
